Animal Licensing

Every dog, six months or older, kept in the Town of Westcliffe must be licensed and vaccinated for rabies by a licensed veterinarian.


License Fees:

Spayed/neutered animal $5.00, Senior Discount $3.00

Non-Spayed/neutered animal $10.00, Senior Discount $5.00

License tags may be obtained at Town Hall, 305 Main Street.


New Liquor Licensing

Liquor licenses are obtained through the Town Clerk, please contact Town Hall or 719-783-2282 for information.


Speical Event Permits

Attachments required for this application are:

1. Drawing of premises where beer is to be sold.

2. If premises is not owned then a letter of permission from the property owner is needed.

3. Certificate of Good Standing from the Secretary of State.

4. Proof of liability insurance.

5. A Check made payable to: Colorado Department of Revenue for $25.00 per day for the event.

6. A Check made payable to: Town of Westcliffe for $25.00 per day for the event.

This application must first be approved by the local licensing authority which is the Board of Trustees and then sent to the Colorado Department of Revenue for their approval. Once this is done the state will return the license to the town and a town license will then be issued.


Sales Tax Licensing

Every business selling at retail within the Town limits must obtain a Sales Tax License ($2.00 fee) from the Town in addition to a State of Colorado Sales Tax License. Sales taxes must be remitted through the Colorado Department of Revenue. Contact the Town Clerk at Town Hall (719) 783-2282 for more information.
